lol try Google Chrome
Hello guys, What version firefox do you using? I Know the previous 3.0 version is garbage...but 4.0 i think is very good one.
Does anyone have any good comparisons between Chrome and Firefox on their Mac? I like Chrome a lot, but I still only use it as a back up browser on my Mac.
Just to give my two-pence worth as this topic keeps gettin reopened. You ideally need both. Chrome is faster for some sites, FF is faster on others - depends on design and coding I suppose. This is especially prevelant with IBM software (e.g. lotus notes web access etc), whereby FF was an issue, now that is fine but Chrome keeps writing in the wrong place if you reply to an email etc. I think anyone serious about using the internet should have at least two browsers on their computer as it helps avoid possible problems - something doesn't work, try the other browser etc/.
Im more concerned however by the orignal posters image - WTF are porn.exe/porn.sex/ninjapirate.exe etc as SYSTEM services!!! One would almost thinks he has a few tojans on there!
Who needs black bars when you can disguise system services as porn?
On a sidenote, I upgraded to Opera 11.50 last week after a period of staying on 10.63, due to a severe letdown regarding newer builds' stability. It hasn't crashed once so far. Maybe they finally got it right...
can anyone tell me why is chrome better than ff?
chrome is not even close to firefox...
i dont even see exactly what that extra memory gives you, its ridiculous
Money?
Chrome is noticeably faster than firefox, both at starting up and simply loading web pages. Once I went chrome I could never go back. Such a much better uI than the new versions of firefox

FF has no tracking. How to do this on Chrome? I don't want to share my information with Google. Though I love Chrome very much, I only use it to test web design.
What issit like.. a few bits faster? -_-
Anon - wow, oh em gee, WTO Editor huh

^^^ I had to read that post twice to try and convert it from a 12 year old girl post on Facebook to English :P.
I've been mucking around with Firefox the last couple of days, just to prove I'm not biased towards Chrome but I have noticed a huge speed difference between Chrome and Firefox. I do like the bookmark manager and the fact that you can view all your tabs opened with the drop down arrow - at the end near the minimize button.
I have faced problems with firefox, I surely agree to your words ,Firefox is garbage its better to use Chrome.
I prefer Firefox because Chrome doesn't always render some webpages right.
Hey WTO Editor, will try what you suggested. Meanwhile, i just downloaded the chrome extension called "Keep My Opt-Outs". I will see whether it works better and keep everybody updated on that.
Surprised I forgot about addons. Firefox has a ton of privacy protection ones, and probably so does Chrome.

On a mac at least, I find Chrome to be much much faster than firefox, although I haven't tried like latest beta build. I've heard good things about Opera too, but haven't tried it in a long time. Any Opera users here care to comment?
i like firefox due to its addons, i like crome due to its default translation abil
Ehh, Chrome has addons too!
I am of the opinion that Chrome is heavier and slower than Firefox!
to open multiple tabs in Chrome in Firefox and then see which one is consuming more memory.
Firefox for ever
Chrome for ever, because i think that is great. But firefox have great addons too that i use .

Firefox has got wayyyy too bloaty for my taste. The only thing that was holding me back from chrome was lack of extensions, but now all the extensions I loved in FF are available for chrome. I've made the switch on all my machines and I see performance benefits.
Not sure if I've already said this in this thread but Chrome's instance handling is rubbish. Firefox wins hands down. I keep trying to fall in love with Chrome but I just can't.
I use a Windows-specific build of Firefox called Palemoon, and it's great. I've thought of switching to Chrome, but I just can't give up some of the obscure add-ons that I use!
Firefox 4 works like a charm for me, almost as fast as Chrome. And I get all of the extensions I need, not the one's that managed to get around Chrome's limitations.
You would prefer a browser that collects data on internet behavior? Google doesn't provide Chrome for free without getting a lot in return.
You could turn most if not all of those so-called features off, though. And there's this fork called Iron...
Firefox
Chrome
Rest are shit.
also palemoon or waterfox are awesome(100% firefox sourced, and they came with x64 version also)
also firefox 7 now uses much less memory than previous versions: often 20% to 30% less, and sometimes as much as 50% less.
i use opera but i also use firefox and chrome all are same nothing difference.
I used Firefox for quite a while, but then became annoyed with Firefox memory issues and switched to Chrome. It works 10x better than Firefox.
