The timeout indicates either that you can't communicate with the target host or that pinging is somehow blocked on your network.
You can easily find out if pinging generally works by just trying a known server such as google.
I guess the second proxy also doesn't work in utorrent?
In this case, is it possible to just browse that host ->
http://213.253.169.130 ?
that's funny. pinging google gets me a timeout too. but i can browse the site on firefox perfectly fine. when i key http://213.253.169.130 into my browser, i get linked to a advansys website. is that correct?
and yeah the second proxy doesn't work either. maybe i'm doing something wrong with the ping thing?
Re: > Torrenting With A Proxy
I guess you can't use ping on your network, for whatever reason.
This isn't much of an issue as it's only a tool for diagnosis.
I wanted to know if the proxying fails or if the comcast user is unreachable alltogether.
Instead of pinging you now just browsed the proxy, with the result of the host being available.
Still, proxying doesn't work at your place, although here it work's well.
What's the "Tracker Status" in utorrent?
