I like to think that people actually sit and read them as they take place.

Either that or they come home from school / work / hanging about street corners all aglow, looking forward to reading them.

I'm sure there's a torrent site where people can download whole conversations, to read at their leisure and share with mates.

I think of them more as watching on with obvious amusement but with little gravitas attached to that.

Kind of like a Jack Russell terrier watching a game of football.
