Test it yourself,inject a virus infested USB into ur system(they are available on order from the nearest friends house, where i live..lol),and check the awsomeness of this product,its pretty amazing how it multiplies the infestation :D
Then do the same a after installing,NAV,Kaspersky or NOD into ur system :D

Try using Avira Personal... they also have a premium version if you want to spend some cash...
why use a free one if u could use a paid service for free :D,between,one reason ESET and Kaspersky are so popular is,thier medicine(TrialResseter's,licence finders..)are the easiest things to find on the internet..lol..:D

That is what I use. From what I have read that is one of the best combinations of free protection software. I have also disabled the pop-up from the free Avira Personal.
if i were to really buy one i would definitely go for kaspersky or ESET NOD32 .you cant get wrong with any one of these

ESET NOD is by far one of the most noteworthy Anti-virus programs.
I use Norton 360 v4 on my Win7 x86 laptop and it is much much speedier than it used to be. I also use Norton Internet Security 2010 on my Win7 x64 laptop and compared to Norton 2007 it is so much faster it is not funny. It is no longer a resource hog at all and is one of the best at virus/malware detection. I have been using Norton since 2007 continually on atleast one system and it gets quicker and quicker each year - Now it is not even known as the resource hog at all, there are plenty slower nowdays.
I have also used PC Tools paid Net Security & it is pretty good, but if you use alot of wrz it is not too great as it flags almost all keygens (alot of false-positives). AVG is similar to PCTools performance, though I would not pay for either. McAfee is not worth paying for either, though it is a very good virus/malware detector.

ESET NOD32 is definitely my favourite. However last time I used it, it messed with my utorrent a bit till i turned off internet filtering.

Whats the point in buying AV software these days?? Just use Microsoft Security Essentuals and invest in Malwarebytes
I use Symantec Endpoint. It leaves everything else in the dirt. Love it.

I would also suggest Avira Freeware. There is no reason for anyone to pay for anti-virus software when plenty of good companies make it for free. I personally run a scan with malwarebytes whenever i feel i may have a virus. it works perfectly
Microsoft Security Essentials is really good especially since it's free. I know Norton has gotten a bad rap, but 2009+ runs so much better. Most AV test sites rank it top 5. They really cut out a lot of its bloat as well.

Unless I miss something somewhere, there is also MBAM (Malawarebytes' Anti-Malaware), which could be used with pure (not all in one) antivirus of your choice and it is a great combination.
I use NOD32 + MBAM, so far so good.
I'm using NAV 2010, it's really good IMO. I'm waiting for 2011 version because the key in 2010 version can also be used for 2011 version
I've tried alot of anti-viruses, kaspersky, nod32, norton, panda, avast and perhaps some more.
NOD32 is definitely the best, low fale-possitive rate and doesnt drain that much resources.

I have used avast for many years. It is reliable but it slows down the computer a lot. Now I am using microsoft essentials and works great. It doesn't slow down the computer at all.
Mark my words and go for KIS 2010 along with Trojan Remover. It is the best option which detects max possible viruses, malware and trojans. If you have Core2duo or better processor, then it shouldnt be a problem on your system resources
i use clamwin, avg free and superantispyware, all free and not had a virus of any kind in over 2 years.
