You are right! There are some very good russian warez sites like a http://qsound.ws/ http://www.2baksa.net/ http://www.epidem.ru/ and etc.
I use torrents, too. I prefer private sites (torrentleech, ST, RevoTT), but sometimes I use public, too (isohunt.com, torrentz.com).

Have not tryed so many filesharing sites. But I like Demonoid
