Why do I need it? I want to discover what's going on at techno scene now. I'm kinda stuck with records from late 90's and reading reviews doesn't do any good if you can't find the stuff you read about.
What kind of music do I like? It's easier to say what I don't like - I hate over-produced commercial music. Other than that I listen to everything, from underground hip-hop to Karlheinz Stockhausen to minimal techno which I want to get at TT.
I don't usually listen to mixes so I don't have many favorite DJs. Richie Hawtin is one of them, he's also one of my favorite producers (under the Plastikman alias). I like all artists associated with Chain Reaction label (Vladislav Delay, Monolake etc) cause after listening to them I discovered that techno isn't stupid and could be in fact played at home.
Before Oink's shutdown I didn't care much about the quality and was downloading 192 and V0 releases. But after that I've started to download FLACs - you should grab them while you could. Though I fall back to MP3s easily - you can't distinguish them from lossless in ABX-test anyway. At least, not on my setup.

Everyday I have to take the buss into town and back, which takes 1 hour each way.The only thing I can really do is listen to music. After OINK was taken down I've been running out of decent music, so lately all I've been listening to is what I've had on my hard drive this past half year.

I prefer MP3 actually, because it's easier to listen too when traveling. But if I like the song I always download it in FLAC , if I can find it.

personally, I think it depends on the mood you are in. I would opt for Armin Van Buuren or Johan because i find their music somewhat more diverse yet still contains many aspects of the trance/dance genres. however, i admirer so many artists, so it is definately a hard decision.
What type of audio quality you like and why?
honestly, i'm not keeping myself busy with the quality i'm downloading, if the sound is not "worn out" it is fine with me :)

Introduced to trance by close friend and it became a refuge for me to stay away from mainstream raps and rocks which just aren't for qualities anymore. Besides liking trance music as a hobby or even obsession like everyone here, it would be wonderful to have TT as a dedicated all-in-one portal to satisfy my music searches.
What.cd is probably the only site where I source my trance music though i have joined other communities. One is http://tranceplanet.org/ and the other is a streaming site http://www.di.fm/ which is dedicated for trance radio stations etc. But the only downside is that I cannot keep the songs :(

The mainstream artists like Armin van Buuren and DJ Tiesto are a must, I suppose they have become industry icons and trance wouldn't be the same if you don't listen to them, records such as State of Trance. Tiesto also did an awesome remix with the Pirates of the Caribbeans soundtrack. But their latest records have got a bit more "housy"feeling to them, seems that they have diverted their styles. Recent DJ that I have been listening to is the Deep Dish duo, I like what they've done with Timberlake's Like I Love You remix. Also I'm listening to Australia DJs and artists like BX748 to expand my collections.

320kbit is a handy format for my iPod which isn't big but i synchronize my trance songs selectively and it's a pleasure to listen to them to and from school. FLAC is definitely the best quality i keep a generous collection of the format but only listen on weekends, though my speakers are "uberleet" they are decent enough :)
