1) 0.095% is the number I referenced with regards to variation with the Homo Sapiens Sapiens species, right?

Assuming you are correct and human beings differ from each other by 0.095%, and our closest primate relative (which incidentally is the Bonobo not the Orangutan but I'll be generous and use those figures), differs from us by approx 5%, you clearly do not have 'nearly as much in common with the Orangutan as your Asian neighbour'. Not unless you consider 0.095% to be a bit similar to 5%, and in the scientific world where we deal with actual figures and data, we don't.
