This "carelessness" is kinda adorable in a weird way.

They've been there from the beginning, they're still there, and as long as the site exists, I'll remain a member. It has sentimental value now.

http://www.bit-hdtv.com/ definitely works. Sounds like a DNS update problem to me, I'm using Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
