its still here it keeps making my limewire keep poping up over and over
What have you done to remove it?
From what I see, we have posted 2 solutions yet you don't mention that you even tried anything.
first of all i would not post if i had not tryed them both so you can get that damn look off your face second of all i tryed both things posted and that damn virus is still on here
What damn look?
I'm sorry that I cannot see what you are doing or have done over there. My internet connection isn't that advanced yet.

As peat moss suggests- turn off systym restore. Then shut down-
start in Safe Mode... run NAV.
good luck
post a hijack this log
Format, its quicker. I tried for weeks trying to get trojans off my system last time I got infected, and new ones just kept comming back. Format and stay away from P2P programs like limewire. Use BT or newsgroups.
Format , thats a little drastic no ? I like Zed's advice about the hijack this log .
Heres a link :

btw i just tried this program
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
makes sure to update the signatures
do a system scan
it found stuff avg didnt
and removed them with ease.
I find anything I scan with will find stuff that AVG missed. :)Quote:

The page regarding Symantec's suggested removal instructions, should have been "dead-on" if performed as out-lined. This issue should have been resolved there. It is not as if we are talking about any sort of "Sassar" grade virus or the like.
I believe Peat's first advice is the best approach. Neutralize the "System Restore", and any currently running anti-virus or related processes and reboot into safemode without networking. Take extra precautions to follow precisely symantec's removal instructions as outlined.
Yeah I don't think he is coming back.Quote:

The link VB posted tells you what the virus does, and what files it creates. Boot into safe mode, undo all the changes listed at the link, do one final scan. Shouldn't be that much of a problem...
I guess part of the problem is what virus or trojan " Do " I have , it's too confusing for people like myself let alone a NoOb . Google is of no help as I'v found out personally .
For the most part all the info here in this thread will work to some degree .
If I can insert this story about this issue with out hijacking this thread .......
Its about bloody time :
