"In order to access the future of PlayStation 2, namely network gaming, you don't need much - three things, in fact. Those things are a PlayStation 2, a Network Adaptor, and a broadband Internet connection"

Yes you can use 56k connection, not for some games but for most you can. I got it when it first came to the US. (pre-order gotta love it)
it's got a modem line and a broadband line.
yeh kool i might get it gotta ask the store guyz
u need a router really.
you dont need a router....just a telephoen line or a broadband thing
The network adapter supports almost every dial-up ISP with the exception of MSN lol
MSN works, but aol broadband dosent becuase it dosent use a static IP.Quote:

It Does Support AOL it has a option that ask you if you have AOL
ok heres the deal with aol it works with 56k but for broadband you have to pay like an extra 5 or 10 bucks
and most games dont support 56k the only ones i can think of are thps3, amplitude (or frequency cant remember waht), thps4, and thats it
I have the network adapter for my ps2.
1. it doesnt support dial up connections (its for broadband only)
2. if you want to use a pc aswell you will need a hub or router.
3. dial up would be too slow for any of the games currently available.
i agree
if you can afford to buy a ps2 nd actually intend to play online with it (which would naturally come with a subscription fee from sony I think) then you shoul dbe able to get an adsl connection too.
you don't pay anything to sony to use the network adapter you only pay for that online adventure game Everquest but the other games are free all you have to pay for is for your internet connection :D
lol yes it does work online you have to type msn/<ur id here> or somting like that.... www.playstation2.com check it out on theonline gaming questionsQuote:

I dont get it
why do ppl buy playstation??
i mean, if parents buy it for their kids I understand
but why spend the extra dollars on such hardware when more games can be played on computer? it's more flexible, more selection and the best of all it's all free.
can games be ripped on psII? I have never played that ever since I bought my nintendo 64 like years ago.
