I did install this and not really had any issues. I should wait to see if there's any problems before installing this kind of thing but I'm a sucker for grabbing updates as soon as I can lol
Tell me one thing: did you have installed the BIE version, using DAZ loader or removewat ?

my sp1 installation was 85mb and it went flawlessly and i have the original (from 2 years ago) win7 BIE version (no loader necessary).

There's apps like Hard Disk Sentinel which could tell you if your drive is going another thought is if you keep Task Manager open but minimized to the task bar you can keep an eye on cpu spikes. I've noticed a few cpu spikes from Kaspersky that aren't frequent enough to be an annoyance but didn't happen before the SP1 update
duke0102 Thanks for the advice, I've been trying multiple things to try and suss it out but no look so far. The task manager trick was the first thing i always go to anyways. Hard disk sentinel says all is well as well. As I'm sure you already know, It could be a thousand and one things,like a dodgy old driver, hardware issue etc and it all just happened as a coincidence on the update.
I use the DAZ loader and have had no issues with SP1. I installed it last Sunday.Quote:

ive had the sevice pack 1 installed since its release on the wifes laptop and no problems so far and i used the daz loader :naughty::naughty::naughty:

Installed on two systems today - both Windows 7 Ultimate, both using DAZ loader with the appropiate OEM info for the system
Wokrs like a charm
No spikes observed using Kaspersky (2010 on one system, 2011 the another) as some people have reported around the net
Works fine for legit install - have yet to try it on my ultimate OEM isntall
I'm running a retail copy of Ultimate with the Daz loader 1.9.3, and SP1 installed fine with no issues at all. Running perfect.

I've updated to the newest build off there site and Mine's ok with that now lol

Mine is updated everytime patch tuesday comes around (3 updates for march by the way)
win 7 has a built in updater now so whats the site you are going on about?

Just spotted a strange thing. Ive got the full Kaspersky IS and i've, by chance, noticed Windows defender has been turned on since the SP1 update. If you're using an internet security or equivalent it'd be worth checking that cos ive only been running mine for a short period of time since and most lags are gone
No, Windows defender is is disabled, Ive gone through all the startup programs,whats in the services and switched off crap that i dont regularly use and disabled them as well.
I wonder when the hotifixes will start coming out lol
Look out for kb971033 if you have a hacked install. It will come up in Windows Update along with SP1.
For those who are afraid to install SP1 on top of removewat / DAZ loader installations, this guide works for every single problem.
Tested on 2 installations, both 32 and 64 bits.
I installed it, no problems. My only gripe was how long it took. But if I think real hard back to other major SP installs I think I remember them being lengthy too. However, one major issue fixed with my SP1 install was I used to constantly get disconnected from the internet, something to do with Win7 and my router communicating.. Now that it's installed I don't lose connectivity anymore! :D
I bought my copy of Win7 Professional x64.
Installed on both PC and Laptop I have and no problems other than some update error that was fixed using MS's Fix-It program. Got my Win 7 Pro 64bit while they had it for students for $30+$13 for a hard copy. I have 2 student emails so I got both that way.
my update was flawless and i've seen a minor speed increase
I noticed I had to reinstall Daemon tools after installing SP1, the only program I had to do this with though
