Your Dream P2p App

hey i just wanted to ask everyone what there dream p2p app wpould be please feel free to tell all

what network or networksit would connect to and why

what it would look like and why

what it would be called and why
ya know shit like that


mine would look a whole lot like NAPSTER 2.0 maybe even exactly like it because i think all the feature napster has are awsome but we would be able to use all the features like the MESSAGE BOARDS and RADIO feature. and it would connect to all the networks, im not really sure if i would include fasttrack in there though. but it would somehow connect to soulseek as well. overnet, emule, gnutella, g2, torrent files....., well you know all networks. and i would call it K-Lite, hehe, ya know give K-Lite a great name again

My dream network would be emule/overnet... but everyon has t3 lines.

Mine would be Soulseek but everyone shares more then just mp3s and never disconnects. None of the downloads are queued and my downloads always max out my bandwidth and I never have to upload. I can find all the lesbian porn I want without having to use Kazaa or MIRC.

Or just having my downloads not be Queued, Soulseeks server being up and bittorrents speeds are always fast even when I don't upload would be good enough for Arm. B)

humm thats a hard Q. for real lol
but i would say i just want a very high internet speed and i'll manage :D
but kazaa lite with more users and more shared stuff is great
and I LOVE mIRC

kazaa file availability with e-mule fake checks/not many fake files with secure downloading/uploading (proxies)

My ideal dream P2P app would have the following features:

1) Searches all P2P networks including Fasttrack as well as Bittorrent, Emule, Gnutella etc.

2) Allows plugins to cover new P2P networks as they appear.

3) Comes with Peerguardian built in but instead of just blocking enemy IPs it lets them think they're downloading a file, gives them piss-all bandwidth so it takes ages and wastes their time, but all they get is a "suck shit asshole!" text file instead.

4) Can convert DRM files to MP3/OGG/AVI/MPG on the fly, as they download, rather than just rejecting them. (Wouldn't that be two fingers in the face of the RIAA!)

5) Has built-in IP address anonymisation to defend against IP tracing. (ie sets up a virtual proxy on your machine to mask your real IP)

6) Features PGP file encryption to prevent interception en route.

7) Detects if an uploader is a leech (not sharing any files or has reduced their upload bandwidth to 0) and automatically prevents them from connecting to ANYONE if so. DEATH TO ALL LEECHES!!! DIE YOU SELFISH SCUMSUCKING B@#$#%$&&#^&#%^!!!! :angry: :angry: :angry:

(Ahem... sorry, just got a bit carried away there, this is a sore subject with me!)

8) Search filter excludes incomplete files as well as fakes (you can specify a minimum playing time if you know roughly how long the song/movie you want goes for; any file under this playing time by a significant margin is excluded).

9) And last but not least, published under the GPL with OPEN SOURCE for reliability and peer review = stable, bug-free software!

Hmm, I might break out C++ Builder and start experimenting with a few ideas... mentioning all this has got me thinking now! :rolleyes:

For me it's Soulseek. Things to improve are:

1. Find more users (for the same files of course)
2. Invite a member (in a personal message)
3. Read peoples info first! (as a basic startup text)

That's it really.. i love Soulseek.

yep soulseek is great but since the mydoom virus is on it some people say that what happened to fasttrack is going to happen to soulseek ya know like the fake files

eMule Plus/Overnet Lite(great work by Tmpj, thnx)

ODC With everyone having at least a 1.5 megabit connection and only one hub open at a time. In addition, only 3 slots open so fast file sharing can take place.

how about kazaa lite with more users more downloads and no fakes

*Better search criteria and the ability to link to other networks (like shareaza)

*Big user base (like fasttrack)

*Better meta data (so I can search for everything by, say, a particular director)

*A great big motherf*cker list of verifieds!

* And for me personally - a 500GB HD and a 1.5Mb connection!

2. Scans for fake files,corrupted, and files infected by viruses EVERY DAY (MUST SCAN EVERY 24 HOURS) :unsure:

3. If one of the above appears the user that has the fake file or whatever gets kicked off the network for an amount of time like a day,wook or month. And CANNOT come back even if the time is up if they have the file and there still sharing it. :angry: :angry: :angry:

4. Accepts torrents, sig2dat links and you name it.

5. Has a search button.

6. Accepts Skins.

7. Easy and good interface. :01:

8. Buddy list,protection and big network with lots of users and great speeds. :D

9. AND NO CHANCE IN HELL :angry: OF ANY F-IN SPYWARE OR GODDAMN AD-AWRE. NO AD ABNNERS NO POPUPS NOT ANY! :angry:

My dream p2p client was Audiogalaxy for its fast speed and the small client.

Now, my favorites are 1)K-Lite K++, 2)SoulSeek 3)KCeasy 4)Imesh 5) Emule
6) Slavanap (some servers including my own) 7) others...

it is not your favorites internet news, its your dream p2p app.

mine re-thought of and sorted out

1) Only people sharing at least one file are allowed. No leechers. Some kind of benefits for those that share lots of files.

2) Secure network, so the RIAA & MPAA can't see whos sharing what.

3) Virus & fake file elimination (somewhat like e-mule)

4) A site like sharereactor to host download links

5) Possibly either include ad's in the program, or on the site, it needs to make money for the creators. they would deserve it anyways. As long as it doesn't insert spyware.

6) Ability to search for a certain user, a buddy list is a good idea.

My two dream P2P apps already exist: MLdonkey and Nicotine.

My dream would be to have a standard protocol with which to download and upload to others. All P2P clients would be compatible with each other. The protocol would work through the HTTP protocol, support standard HTTP proxy servers, and encrypt data.

The difference between networks and programs would be the method used to find sources (decentralized, server based, etc). For enhanced speed and source finding capabilities, trackers would be used to store information about the networks users: who is requesting which files, who has each file, whether or not the user is online, etc.

My Dream p2p Program would probably include the following:

*Automatic Connection to Other p2p Databases
*Multiple Search Queries With looping option
*Automatic IP Masker
*No Adware, Spyware or other crap
*Auto Burn .bins & .cues into the Application/Game Folder
*File Rating
*User Reliability -How often user cancels uploads

And any other toys you could sqeeze in there.

i thought this is a general file sharing topics and as far as i know ESS is file sharing ..
am not old in this forum but am not new too i hab=ve been in this forum for a while
but it is so strange whenever i say ESS peaple just keep dising me ..what the fuck :angry:
every one here can talk about anythin i hear peaple talkin about sharaza i dont see pissed of ..i see peaple talkin about emule mirc sand soul seek i dont see shit from u ..
