add html to the end of the filename when u go to save.
so instead of typing in TEST as a save file, type TEST.html
I am <_<
The problem is, it isnt working.
how are you saving them?
and go verify that the 'hide extensions of known filetypes' is disabled.
(Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View)
Alright, here's what I'm doing.............

so you just copy/paste to notepad & save?
hmmm....
check what the default application is for html files.
Win Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types
and fine html in the list.
You can't save it that way, You must choose All Files in the filetype dropdown menu.
Then You can save it as something.html
EDIT: Maybe not but that's how I do it :)
BOT
oh yeah! good eye, BOT, I didn't even notice that.
you're right.
that would causet them to be saved as whatever.html.txt
see you should disable that 'hide file extensions' thing.
Done that, didn't workQuote:

Did that, but the only change was the file name. (Now it diplays: "example.html") The icon stays the same and when I attempt to open it, I get the 'Page cannot be displayed' crap. I can't figure out for the life of me what I would have changed to make this occur either.
did you check what I was saying about the file type associations?
This.....?Quote:

http://img22.exs.cx/img22/3388/5417.jpg
yeah. see.
it's broken.
should open with whatever your default browser is.
Browse to it & you're fixied. :)
(edit the 'Open' action) :)
dont't know what the hell could've changed that though, that's pretty fucked-up.
you scanned for spyware & stuff lately?

As far as the rest of your post, I'm clueless as to what your talking about
Please explain
go to this window:
http://img3.exs.cx/img3/1038/7283.jpg
then select html, then click change and in the window that opens up select Internet Explorer (or your prefered browser) from the list then click ok
PS. you will probaly want to do this with htm as well
Got it!
Thanks all!
What would have caused this change?
WTF?!
Now my links are opening up in a non-maximized window
and
this is occuring........
http://img61.exs.cx/img61/8584/zzzz.jpg
right-click your IE icon on your desktop, quick launch bar, or whatever, go to properties.
On the Shortcut tab, drop down the box next to 'Run' and change it to 'Maximized'.
you should check and reassociate the URL file types & stuff with IE (if that's your default browser) to make the icons look right again.
ummm
I don't know what would've caused that :\
Should I change everything with that icon to IE as the prefered program?
http://img63.exs.cx/img63/8584/zzzz.jpg
try just the two hypertext transfer ones.
hmm...."change" is grayed out. Can't change it that way.
use .htm
try going to Add/remoe progs > Set program access and defaults and set IE as the default web browser
