exeem! next big thing?
anyone else using exeem? it's pretty cool and it's based off of bittorrent technology. i highly recommend it, which doesn't really mean much, but i think everyone should at least check it out. http://exeem.com
btw, if you don't know what the hell i'm talking about, exeem is a p2p program like kazaa, limewire, bearshare, etc... but it's based off of bittorrent so it kicks ass. check it out. http://exeem.com

so? it still rules. i'm using it right now to download a movie and i'm getting great speeds. and i didn't have any trouble finding the file i wanted either, it came right up as soon as i searched.
plus, i'm sure once more people start using it and giving feedback that'll help speed them through the development process.

Re: exeem! next big thing?
This was like months ago, exeem has adware so im not using it, plus it doesn't even connect for me! So I think its crap.
-
Re: exeem! next big thing?
Blaming your router and bad port configuration on programs is not good, even if it is Exeem.
-
Re: exeem! next big thing?
What about versions of Exeem with Adware removed?
Are they OK?
-
Re: exeem! next big thing?
ok is a reletive term. it works, it seems to suffer from too many leechers that don't seed what they download til they reach 1:1 ratio and people that release and don't hang around til they're well seeded though

i thought is was adware free....

Re: exeem! next big thing?
no i don't work for them, i just think that it's a good program. i admit, it's not perfect (beta, duh) and it does have adware (cydoor, blah) but the concept behind it is really good. i've used it to download a few files and i've been seeding all of them, and I havn't had any problems connecting or anything. i share an internet connection with my parents' computer through a wireless adapter/router setup so i have a lot of trouble connecting with things like this but I had no problems at all. i definately think it's worth giving a chance.

Re: exeem! next big thing?
you thought wrong
it installs a IE BHO and the "simple banner ads" in exeem, theyre not just simple banner ads, they are 2 full blown web pages loading in the little boxes.
They're full of shockwave flash, cookies, JavaScripts, redirects, and iframes
i thought a "simple banner ad" was suppose to an image, and not webpages full of scripts, tracking cookies, redirects and possible exploits
fortunately theyre hosted by cydoor, so no worries.
i use BIT eXeem though, it's a cleaned version

Re: exeem! next big thing?
If you go to their main site, you'll read quite clearly that, though exeem is 'freeware' it is supported by advertising(meaning loaded with adware/spyware), very much like limewire was when first released. Scary to think that they might shove bonzi buddy into exeem one day.

Re: exeem! next big thing?
Besides being adware, it was always slow for me. And yes, I had ports set up right. Normal BT it is for me.

No!

Re: exeem! next big thing?
Exeem was meant to be the best of bt and kazaa, it managed neither, bt and kazaa are both still better and I can't see that changing for a long time. :(

Re: exeem! next big thing?
Why not just use Clean exeem?
-
Re: exeem! next big thing?

Re: exeem! next big thing?
I tried exeem lite. didn't like it. i always felt unsatisfied with its search tab or new files tab or whatever it was. It had the same crap for a week.
And when i'm downloading, it gives me crap for stats. I like to look at all the peers/seeders i'm connected to because i like to know how many countries i'm connected to
