Job interview tomorrow
Going for a summer job at the nearby mail sorting office. I get to read people's poorly written post on a computer screen and try to decipher what they really mean. It's the job I was born to do.
As an added bonus it is a 5pm-9pm job so won't interfere too much with my general laziness.

Re: Job interview tomorrow
isnt that what you do here?

Re: Job interview tomorrow
All the best with that :D
It's unfortunate that you won't be able to deliver a cutting remark directly to the writer of the badly written prose - but you can still think it.

Re: Job interview tomorrow
as a release to the tedium - you could post "the best of" here

I've been waiting to use this one here:
"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of spell checkers suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."
Been practising on my typing speed, have been getting 45wpm on average so I don't think I'll struggle on the typing test that I have to take.
The only thing that stresses me is when they ask you "Why do you want this job?" Duh - 'cos my student loan has ran out.

Re: Job interview tomorrow
A controlfreak hotel manager once asked me
"why do you want the job?"
i replied
"I need the job"
i was fired

Re: Job interview tomorrow

The Royal Mail does respond to every Santa letter that it receives. Shame my parents used to hang my letter on the washing line...

Re: Job interview tomorrow
Waste of time.
I needed to take proof of identity, so I took my birth certificate but they told me it was not valid ID as it didn't have my parent's names on. :fugley:
Bit annoying as I would have walked the test and interview.

Gutted, mate. Seems a bit pointless when they could have let you sit the interview but only consider you on the condition that you provided valid ID within 24 hours.
That's what I'd have done, unless you were wearing a Liverpool shirt or something.

Re: Job interview tomorrow
I haven't been abroad in 20 years so have never had need of one. I'm quite American in that respect.
Nevermind, I'm signing up for a few agencies now and I'll see what comes of that.

Re: Job interview tomorrow
The annoying thing is I took all the documentation that I sent off for my CRB check which allowed me to work with children at YES. It was more than obvious that I was who I was but they were not willing to be flexible, in fact I even took my letter from the CRB.
Bar-stewards.
/end rant.

Get one and go to Roscoff on the ferry. I think it costs about £10 or something (or used to ). Roscoff itself is a shithole but you don't have to get off the ferry. Cheap booze, cigs and unattached French women a-plenty - not that you'll be into that - but if a few of you go then it's a pretty good 8 hour booze cruise complete with arcades, proper pubs and cinemas :01:

Re: Job interview tomorrow
Damn beaurocrats - an interview is generally to see who you are - the paper work could have been brought in a few hours later or day later
wtf

Re: Job interview tomorrow
Tis a shame indeed. I felt this was what you were born to do.
Oh well, at least you have the poetry critique skills to fall back on.
