If you have XP, have seperate users setup (and yours has a password), and your harddrive is formatted with NTFS, then you can right click on a file or folder => go to properties => click advanced => then click 'encrypt contents to secure data'
That makes it so other user accounts can't open those files or folders.
You can also just Hide them amost the same way:
Right click on a file or folder, Click on Properties, then check the Hidden Box.
heres a simple easy program to do it instantly

To test you have to log into another account and try to open the file.
Why not simply create a folder in some obscure location in your system (C:\WINDOWS or C:\Program Files...) The idea being "if it is not an area that they normally would go into the system, then place it there." Often times the best places to hide are directly within plain sight. Name the folder something such as "System Files2" or "Component Share Libraries"- something stupid however "official sounding" to the non-PC educated.
