The only downside to being a computer geek I have found is when the inlaws have a computer problem and ask you to fix it. When you get there it's a 10 year old dell with 512mb ram and they want to run photoshop.

The case does look sexy, possible why Apple products appear to the design sector of the workforce (Audio producers, Gfx designers etc). Good to hear you got your job back
As for me, I spend about 1000$AUD/year on hardware and project supplies. I probably don't have a big budget as the rest of you Euro's as I have other financial commitments.
