On a side note;
the company I'm working for is changing its name to Goldfish... apparently because it sounds more upmarket than the name we're using the now...

Thought there already was a Goldfish - credit card company.

I is well - been doing a lot of DIY (the paint and window sealant kind rather than the sweaty version).

The consultancy speak is a fecking disease. The more obscure and opaque it is the higher the fees. I was sent on a course where I had to stand on a chair and surf to Beach Boys music (actually that was ok - just a bit mad and the lunch was good).

If someone told me to do that I would punch them to the ground.

No Court in the land would convict one for doing such a thing, given the circumstances.

There was a Goldfish credit card company, then they got taken over by Morgan Stanley, who have now decided it would be a great idea to be completely independent from Dean Witter and take over the Goldfish name as well as the bank

I couldn't help but wonder how much they spent on the new banners for the employee parking lot

Some of my colleagues would have acted had they known this. One did summarise the course as "complete pish". The provider, a Tony Robbins trained individual, was not entirely chuffed with this assessment and found it "challenging"

The food was excellent though.

Not the worst course I have ever been on - that was a two day kinetics course which I can only assume was an administration glitch. Accountants rarely drive fork lifts and move heavy boxes. I slept most of the two days.

If London can spend £400,000 on a logo which looks like Maggie Simpson doing something unnatural and unspeakable to Bart, the sky is the limit for a Bank.
