dose this patch help any
If you ask me we are providing a valuable service to Microsoft by testing their products before they are released. Any bugs that are fixed in this patch (if any) wouldn't have been fixed before the release date if it wasn’t for us complaining about it. Microsoft should be thanking us not spending huge amounts of time and money trying to stop us.
The pain in the ass about the patch is the "request" to update doesn't allow you to skip it and play on unpatched servers, it's just "update" or "quit", I guess this means back to haloserv..
Soooooo....... i shouldnt get this patch

We should just set up our own direct IP game,i would host it for a few hours.
there's no way to avoid it as far as i can see, it pops up as soon as you clikc multiplayer, and you can only install it or quit. I installed it and then replacd the halo launcher with the private server crack again and multiplayer runs againonly about 15 odd servers though, all small and most locked.
Does anyone know what this is: Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\chktrust.exe
It trys connecting to the internet when running the patch.
chktrust? Does'nt sound good to me.
Theres something on supranova called Halo MPlauncher. I've just checked it out. It looks like you can create a LAN game and then give ppl your IP which they then put into this app to laucn the game and connect to your game.
Anyone wanna give it a try,. d/l the app and then PM me.Originally posted by from the readme file in haloMPlauncher
Place in the same folder as your Halo executable, otherwise you'll get launch errors.
; )
Thanks to Peopls for finding the -connect shortcut line!
*****To Create a Game****
multiplayer>create or edit gametype (or whatever)
>select a gametype to edit, the one we just played was CTF pro
>change the name to something else
>set all the settings to how you wish
-for vehicles, for some reason you can't have both auto cannon and rocket warthogs in the same game, a bug maybe, also makesure you specify the vehicles for both teams)
>go back to the mp menu,
>under create game, click LAN
-you will see a list of maps, the one we just played is at the top i think, if you select another map, and you get a message saying that a file can't be found, this means that the map is unavailable.
>select a map
>for the gametype, change the listings to custom at the top, which should wipe the list and show the gametypes you have created
>select your gametype
>set up max players and start the game,
ignore the IP there (but leave it as it is) its for a LAN game, use your ISP Client IP
Give your ISP client IP to the people you want to connect, tell them to put it in this app, voila!
Edit: I'm only on for the next couple of hours. Hopefully this will work and then we can sort out times were online.
