This doesn't surprise me what so ever. All you have to do is watch an episode of "The Hamster Wheel" to find out that news sites 'report' on celebrity drama more than real news. Also there was the baby scandal, as if Bieber had enough juice to make a girl pregnant.
This might also be an indication of Bing's userbase
