I find it incredible that someone could believe that a god, who allowed 105,000,000 people to be killed by war and genocide in the 20th century alone, would step in and stop someone from smoking. It beggars belief!
"Were suffering in the hands of man, not the hands of god."

Arm heard that in a movie I once saw. It was about Joan of Arc.

And no, I don't believe in God. How anyone can be stupid enough to believe in god baffles me.

I will paste my answer from the other thread.

Maybe their was a god along time ago when the human race was still young and needed some guidance. He has disappeared because he can see that we have doctors that can heal, we have scientists that can find cures for illnesses, we have have boats and planes to get across the sea, etc etc so their is no more need for god anymore.

Maybe he whent off to start a new race and its a big plan to see if we can contact this other race.

anyone else have a far out theory ?
yes..but have been posted elsewhere...and I understand no need to repost same over and over...

I find that the creation of a more complex entity to explain the existence of our universe only defers the question to: What created God?
Maybe there's a *Super God*, one who makes ordinary, everyday, universe creating gods.

He could be timeless; a sort of oroborus like, circular Time Lord, with no beginning or end.

Or maybe it's a load of bollocks.

one reason why people dont believe in Gods is because they think that their is a timeline or a plot or storyline a beginning and a end , a start and a finish. Human was to believe that if you are created something had to create me. God is so power he created his self hard to believe but true.

No, impossible to believe, and an opinion.
