darn i would of gotten into board god ryte now lolz... i just noticed something in the disscussions posts now count... when was that changed? when they changed the stars

REVOLT! we should form a revolting group in the longue to settle this matter... i think newcomers* have no say in this.... i still like newbie better!

Anyhow, are you guys really going to leave just because of a couple stars were removed?

Argue all you guys want but what has been done has been done and instead of flaming and blaming, suggest a new idea or just say "I want the old one back"

I'm not going to leave, but how much of this has to take place before people are more likely to leave or participate in the future of the board? I'm not sure, but I don't like the new system, I gave my reasons and my suggestions, and I agree with NEMO that this should have been discussed with the members befor it was implemented, at the VERY LEAST to make people aware. There was no consideration in their course of action. I'm beginning to wonder what happens in their little discussions.

I understand the Admins' desire to downplay the importance of stars and ranks, but I think this new system will do more harm than good. Most users come here to talk and help others, but it's also nice to have something to shoot for. Now it's so hard to move up to Sr. Member, I think you'll see a lot more SPAM. I like tilen76's idea:

- 1 star for the Newcomer
- 2 stars for the Jr. Member
- 3 stars for a Member
- 4 stars for Sr. Member
- 5 stars for Mods and Admins only.

I also have a technical question. I there any way the board software can limit the number of posts each level can make per day, like 5 for Newcomers, 10 for Jr. Members, etc.? Maybe that would make people think twice before spamming.

Bring the old (5-star) system back. Raise the number of posts for each "level" if you want, but there has to be differentiation. 1/3/5 is just silly.

I'm not exactly sure why we had a poll to change "newbie" to "newcomer," while this came clear out of left field.

Tilen76's 4-star system would work, as well, if you want to chop out the Board Gods.

Limiting the number of posts one can make based on their rank, though, is just a bad idea.

And another thing,this will just add to the confusion for n00bs.I wonder how many questions we will get now asking 'what happened to my stars' and its gonna stress everyone out having to reply to the same old questions again.
