For problems like PAL-NTSC region conversion. Xbox Media Center/Player is a must-have app. It allows you to play movies, pics, and other stuff that you put on your xbox hdd.

So i can throw a regular divx movie on there and watch it. Also, what kind of apps can you put on there and what would they do?

Yes, if you get the "Xbox Media Player" you can play divx and xvid. And bin's of vcd's.

You can get it on SuprNova.

@Duffman - You can use this to install XMX instead but I prefer EvoX.

After you install this, you can change it after.
