I can understand the need for BT Mods but if those same BT Mods are going to spam a thread or threads then surely they cant complain if a member does the same. Surely they should be setting an example for the new people and not needlessly spamming threads.

Pages and pages in that thread are being filled by Skizo (and I have my page view set to 40...) and yet when some noob comes along filling up in the same way and he gets banned.

Either shut down the thread or set the example you expect others to lead.

Also, lots of people posting numbers at the same time can't be good for the server. We get enough problems with downtime as it is without people actively contributing to it.

I don't like the trading of invites because it's not what the tracker owners want people to do - they want their invites given out by their members to people their members know and trust, which doesn't happen here.

I know you're saying that if it didn't go on here then it would go on somewhere else and would probably be less controlled - and I agree - but it doesn't mean I have to like it or agree with it. I also don't like the password trading that goes on for Easynews or other newsgroup providers and if you opened up a section for that which was more controlled than other forums I've seen, I still wouldn't agree with the principle.

What I'm saying is the fact that you've made it so it's a wrong thing in a controlled environment, doesn't stop it from being a wrong thing.

The section has restrictions such as the wait time so that members get to know each other. This way they arent trading with complete unknowns on the site. Its mentioned in the section to review posts of those your thinking about giving an invite to or trading with. Its also mentioned to do some research and check their profile at mutual trackers your both members of.

The post count allows members to get know each other better. Though weve learned the higher the count required the more spam the forum gets. This is why it was set at five before. We chose to raise the count to twenty so members would have more to review though its created unwanted spam on the site. The post count was recently lowered to ten as a middle ground.

For those that spam their post count to get invites access theyve accomplished very little. They couldve taken that month and been productive though chose to spam it up in a day when they have to wait a month anyway. Now if members research they will quickly note that member for the spammer they are and not give them invites or make trades with them.

The Staff has to define whats spam and when to remove it. In most sections thats simple. The Lounge can be more difficult. For me if theres isnt a complaint then nobodys upset so think to leave it be. If a member came in and made a bunch of empty threads throwing all other threads back off the front page then it would be appropriate to remove those.

The thread in the Lounge may be for fun or could be viewed as pure spam also. Though would rather have the spam in that thread rather than twenty threads in a row clogging the section. The Lounge is to be moderated as little as possible. That may have its drawbacks at times though its also its appeal...

but at those 2 banned accounts i have never scammed anyone, more, i was giving invites for free, just ask the people i did deals, or just invite them to somwe trackers for free.

the reason my accs were banned, was that i have said that one memebr at this forum, tried to scammed my at some polish forums,
i have written this, even posted links ect, but that memebr already have worked a good reputation here, so u have belived him not me,

that scamm i'm talking about took place like few months ago, and he was offering me a uk-t acc for finbytes invite, he didn'yt have that uk-t acc, and thanks god i didn't trade with him.

i have even made a post about it at that forums, and theirs members confiremed that that perosn is/was a scammer.

Well, if all of your posts are "fluff" posts, then you still won't be able to access the Invites section. These posts are considered spam and are deleted.

No one in the Invites section wants to give a new guy, or someone they don't know an invite anyway - at least not right away. They risk being banned from the tracker if the invitee cheats, so typically users want to review your past. What's the only way to do that with a new user? Review their profile and look at their previous posts.

The best thing you can do is spread what knowledge you have by helping other members, whether it be torrent related or otherwise. Let your profile review be a positive one. :)

I registered at the 7th february, not its the 8th mars.
Do the 1 month waiting time count as 31 days, or do they count from ex. 7th to 7th?

I think it is a great idea about having to wait a month and to have to post something 10 times, as this will determine if the people are really committed to filesharing with each other and that they are not just using everyone for invites to special sites. I can wait a month or even two as while I am waiting I can learn from the best of people who know what they are doing.If anyone has any pointers for me lease don't hesitate to reply as I take all advice on board.

I agree totally with the 30 day wait and min. of 10 posts in order to get into the invites section it stops people just using the site for invites and taking off once they get them. Its against the whole ethos of private torrent sites. But it won't keep the RIAA out, even they are smart enough to wait 30 dyas and post 10 replies.

I really don't see the point in having to wait 30 days before a newbie can post in the torrent invites section???


I only joined this site because of that section and then discovered i can't even post there even though im not going to be begging people just to give me a invite and then run off and never come back again.....i have invites to 6 different sites to offer right now but i can't even offer them! I would continue coming back to trade so i could become a member of more sites and i would also have more invites to trade.

but i guess i can't.....i have to wait a month for no good reason and i still have to make 4 more posts(i only came to the site to use the invites section but i am being forced to post in other sections if i want to eventually even use the invites section)
