Most people here can say that 98% of your posts are drivel (i am not one of those people;)), you said many times that the whole word section was also drivel/useless/a waste of time, but to some it was there way of communicating :idunno:..

Evidence found on the scene:

-Florin was spending the weekend at Dion's house shortly after being released from prison
-Dion's mother witnessed a pantless-Florin leaving Dion's bedroom shortly after the time of the assault
-Florin's pants and wallet (containing Florin's ID) were found in Dion's bedroom the following morning
-Dion's left buttcheeek had the letters 'FL' written on it in sharpie pen
-Dion's right buttcheek had the letters 'RIN' written on it in sharpie pen
-The morning following the incident, Dion retrieved a 1" tall magnetic letter 'O' which Dion had received for his 18th birthday in a "learning your alphabet" set from deep inside his rectum
-Florin came back in Dion's room the following morning making 'kissing' sounds at Dion while slapping him on the ass and collecting his pants and wallet

The case remains unsolved as Dion searches for clues...

Watched the first episode of The Boys (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190634/). Looking forward to more! Thought I'd like it but three episodes in and so far not so much. Suffers from the same problem a lot of these streaming service series seem bent on - there just aren't any likable characters. There are other problems but this seems chief among them.

Read the synopsis and this seems to fall under the same category of no one really to root for. Someone please tell these fucks that shows like Gunsmoke, Cheers, E.R. etc didn't endure because of their plots or because they cast a transgender or two.

I am at the 4th episode (1/2 way through the season) of The Boys, and I disagree about a lack of 'likable characters'. There's a lack of purely good characters, but antiheroes can make very fascinating characters to watch. Keith Urban is enjoyable, as is the blonde superhero who is rethinking what she has wanted for her whole life. Much of the premise of the show is that the super heroes are corrupt assholes-- of course they won't be likeable. I agree there are some issues: pacing is off at times, it feels like they are laying too much of a foundation for following seasons instead of telling the best story possible for the material, and I don't feel overly connected to more than a couple characters... I am venturing forth...

Antiheroes are some of the best characters in cinema and I usually find Nicole Kidman's husband to be interesting in just about anything but just not feeling it here. As for the superheroes, kinda bland even in their villiany and I didn't think the whole dopplerganger thing - "Look it's Superman/Wonder Woman etc lite!" works either here or in Watchmen. I dunno maybe it will pick up when they stop showing male nudity and get back to showing tits like the god of entertainment intended.

If they were smart they would have had the main guy go around helping strangers a la Ku Fung to fill in the spaces around the main story. Also the trend towards streaming services giving you stuff that could play on network censorship-wise makes you wonder what the point of streaming is?

Nope... 400Mbps is plenty to stream anything out there, but if you or others in the household are hogging all the bandwidth, downloading and multiple internet streaming 4k/HD, eg Netflix, then maybe you would have an issue Stehle, i have 1GB speed now but before i had 500Mbps, and as long as i wasn't downloading constantly on Usenet, it was really using nothing close.. Again it also depends on the Internal streaming software as well??..
As for Media Streamers... I would say any latest one automatically has a Gigabyte card in them, even all the latest video game consoles have them as well.....

What media software are you using to internally stream something?? Or are you connecting a portable HD directly to the TV??

Being honest... Truthfully i do find that most of the internet streaming or cable are not really true 4k or SuperHD anyways, saying that, if i download a true BD/4K rip of a movie and stream it direct with a port HD plugged in (Remember i am talking a 80gig rip!!), it is day and night when you are really close to the tv, and the sound is more accurate, meaning the channels (i only have 7.1) are accurate, but if you are 6ft back at least from the tv it is hard to tell the difference....

Okay, yes you are correct. It seems I may have a router bottle neck (or limit) I will get a new one soon. Everything I have is hardwired. Yes, at times I d/l massive and multiple files at times while I'm steaming. Hooking my new Dell directly to the modem I get about 463ishmbs+, though I only pay for 400mbs.

My streaming box software is I guess hybrid mix of LibreELEC and KODI software maintained by a close friend with a lot of decent sites linked or sourced. (He maintains it, as it all gibberish to me.) "Every network, all the time." he sez. ;)
So... that's all good, but big shite, because my asshat ways does suffer by freezing big video at times. The BluRay shite anything at least 25gb or bigger I transfer with 3.1 USB to a 128gb. thumb drive than plug it into one of the four ports on my box. (I could go directly to the ROKU 4K and plug it in, but it may have an issue with a few files, so I don't bother.)

"...are you connecting a portable HD directly to the TV??" Hmm... No haven't gone through the wall for the DirecTV dvr with Cat 6 or 7 yet. Streaming Box IS hardwired and goes to ROKU with HDMI cable.

A new spinal issue in the neck 3 weeks ago and an incarcerated hernia (so the doctors tell he) are stopping me from doing much of the things I'd like to do right now, so here I sit pecking on the keyboard. Until the pains too much.

Sorry for the late response buddy, but doesn't the ISP offer you a modem/router?? Here where i am i just use the one that my ISP gives me and it is pretty good, again if you are paying for that speed, they usually give you one no??

Ok for both of your comments Stele, i am not talking about any of your connections now, if you are connected direct to the internet wired not wifi, you will get the best speeds possible from your provider, what i should have asked really (or i missed it somewhere??), is do you have smart TV's?? If you do?? Most of them have a USB port built in and as soon as you plug in any drive be it thumb or portable it will either recognize it automatically or in one of the sources in your TV, and if it is a smart TV?? and all updated with the latest software?? It will have all the necessary codex's and crap to play it direct from the TV and not filter it through another source?? But that again depends on if you have smart TV's right.. Again all of your other connections have nothing to do with what i was trying to explain. Before all i had was Plasma's and I lost one and replaced it with a LED smart tv, and eliminated multiple boxes because i can stream right to it with software or plug a HDD right into it... The same if you are downloading as i can assume??, you are storing it somewhere right?? Well you can also use "Plex" (more popular one) or others (I use UMS to be honest), and it will have everything built into it to stream anything you pretty much download, and yes the picture quality is way better to stream internally than from the internet, so basically you are turning your home into a internal streaming place, and yes you can use any boxes that you have that has kodi in stuff on it, basically UPnP...I actually think what you are doing is tougher and you can make it easier for yourself, not move shit all over and have one computer do everything for you, if that makes sense?? And if you get frustrated!!!, there is a ton of people here that can guide you through all of that crap;)[/QUOTE]

I suppose I could be coerced to watch it if Olivia Munn were to come to my house and promise to blow me if I did.

They departed way too much from the book all to the worse. I kinda liked the first one but this one definitely not. Doesn't help that they basically added a lot of stuff just to be "current". Lastly James McaAvoy as Bill? Please.....

I fought the good fight on this one-- first couple seasons had me interested. It simply lost its way once it got going. The constant shifting of alliances got tedious, too. "You killed everyone I ever loved, I hereby make this blood oath to destroy you!!!" 15 minutes later... "We must work together to destroy the [XXX] group!!!" Then most everyone gets superpowers when that was supposed to be extremely rare.

There's really nothing not to like about Tom Holland as Spider-Man but really poor choice of villan. Also a better balance between character development and FX gee-whizzies would have really helped. That and Zendaya as MJ is pretty enough but really doesn't have the warmest for the part. If Homecoming was a 7.5, Far from Home is a 4.

Agree on too much reliance on CGI over basically everything else, I will say though that the Garfield Spider-Mans are pointless are they didn't really add anything and were more or less kinda just a redo or the orginals. On the other hand, at least with the newer ones with Holland there is something different as they have brought the character closer to his modern more teenage version.

A lot of these movies need to stop thinking of themselves as "superhero" movies though and just come at the story from a more grounded place and then add in the superhero stuff.

Regrettably suffered through Anna (2019) (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7456310/). It's for people who have never seen the original La Femme Nikita (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100263/), and want to see a cheap copy with an empty plot, painfully scattered timeline, and not a single character worthy of enjoyment or care. Sadly, not enough of them die, but the ones killed by the female assassin on her 'missions' are nothing more than paper targets. Apparently Luc Besson has either run out of ideas or no longer gives a fuck. I give it a 3 out of 10, but that's charity.

I actually did not think it was any worse than Hobbs & Shaw.

If you watch enough movies and you aren't Shay then certain patterns begin to reveal themselves. Like any serious movie starring Brad Pitt is going to be overly violent or every movie starring Jason Statham will be stupider than the one that preceded it.

The Witcher is pretty mind boggling in it's level of badness. ie think The Last Witch Hunter level of terrible with added expectations of it being better.

Geez. All they had to do was mimic the books, cast it decently and direct it above grade school level plus throw in a unnecessary sex scenes and they would have been golden.
Also worst cgi since they stopped using toy rocket ships on strings.

Anyway, any opinions on the last Star Wars movie? I haven't watched the last three so my opinion is that I don't give a shit.

I heard someone mention another "The Stand" production in the future... we'll see. ;) Not holding out a lot of hope considering the density of the source novel and that the series is only going to be 10 episodes (prefer the extended version of the novel and that would take a lot of condensing) and that it's going to be on CBS All Access.
On the actor side, Alexander Skarsgard has to be better than Jamey Sheridan as Flagg although I don't think Marsden is anywhere near a good fit for Stu Redman as Gary Sinise and that is basically the heart of the story. Also a Whoopie Goldberg Mother Abagail can't be taken seriously by literally anyone.

Also see that King himself has written a new ending which hopefully will only involve the epilogue as the rest of it plays out practically perfect as it is.

Are you watching The Outsider? It's pretty well done but then the story from the novel is pretty thin and if anything the series is padding it out.

"The Outsider"* is a Yes! :) , but waiting for season end since second episode. :yup:

The newer version of Holly Gibney has a lot to live up to... I liked the one from Mr Mercedes. [Audience Channel Commercial Free]... Hope there is a 3rd season... as a homage of sorts to "The Bill Hodges Trilogy" (End Of Watch), even if the story line went off the rails the first season.

Sort of part American Gods, part True Detective Season 2, part Hunters with a little Milagro Beanfield War sprinkled in. The original Penny Dreadful was almost poetic at times. City of Angels seems to tend more to the crassly 'merican.
