make the backgrounds around the texts under your icons SeeThru?
Use this program - its free http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Shell_a...leDownload.html (http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Shell_and_Desktop/Misc__Desktop_Management_Tools/SeeThru_SimpleDownload.html)

Just so I'm aware of exactly what is going on here maybe someone can answer a question that has been nagging me...
Now is the point of this thread about the actual background image? Or about people creatively leaving certain apps open hoping the rest of us will realize just how much cooler they are than the rest of us?
Because I do realize.....
Really...
I do.

In a Windows world you may have had a point. But your missing the true ability of Linux. It can look good and perform just as well because it's...............Linux.
And if you really feel that way you should know that once you start running apps in icewm it is really not that light.

Maybe i'll check those out. But icewm seem pretty light, why does it change when you run apps? <--- Actual question, not sarcastic.
I think i'm going to give flux/blackbox another shot, but which one is better . When I first tried it, only windows that were minimized would show up in the taskbar and you couldn't use tray icons. I think i'll try the latest dev this time.

Another nice desktop :o
BTW, those links in your sig are.....interesting [/b][/quote]

I do believe i googled for Half Life 2, got he image hen photoshopped it a bit. I didnt save the image so its in my temp folders or somewhere, wherever windows stores the current Desop, if anyone knows i'll post the image on its own. Does anyone know a program that will record your destop? Iv got a cool feature but i cannot show through pictures.
@The disorganisation - ffirefox auto downloads files to my desop, half of those are old cracks and old install files i dont need, but cannot be assed to remove.

I cant think of anything off-hand to record desktop movements but there's something for everything, you know? You just need to find it. Virtualbody or ROSSCO would be good ones to ask too.
As for not being able to remove certain items, try this utility, it's call Gipo Move on Boot, it's the greatest program ever for that sort of thing. Not being able to remove items or icons was my biggest pet-peev for awhile 'till I found this program. All you gotta do is drag and drop, then whatever it is will be deleted on the next boot. :)

The MSStyles require you to patch your 'uxtheme.dll' system file (don't worry, it's easy and safe). Grab the patch here (http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707).
yea i found it right before you posted it
