Yet ABC. Seems to work well, just depends what site you get the torrents from. How is eXeem?

How is uTorrent compared to Azureus, vashavoc?

µTorrent uses less memory, it's incredibly small (less then 100kb) it doesnt need Java and its easy to use :)
Azureus has more options, µTorrent only has the most important options

me trashed Azureus today :)

download µTorrent and try it.. you dont need to install it. (its just 1 .exe file :D )

I use BitTornado all the way used it since day one, the others have to much dumb crap in em' bittornado is so easy and simplified and uses less resources, no java, and faster speeds in my opinion!!!

and you can fake tunnel through a firewall by
advanced > manual announce
every 20 minutes or so

tweaking each torrent network
[up/down limits] to maximized up+down
is more convenient

if you
details >
and randomized the priorities
of constituent files
the network speeds up

haven't found another client with such features

i started with abc, moved on to bitcomet and utorrent and now use azureus since it is the only client which i found really working with private trackers (with dht turned off) with working i mean that it really just dls and uls to sources provided by the tracker, unlike bitcomet where you have sometimes 150 peers when in reality there are just ~100 on the tracker :)

Been a faithful user of Azureus for a long time now, but always open to new suggestions. I tried ABC and didn't find much of a difference. Since I've come to Kuwait however, I can't seem to get download speeds on any client equivalent to my connection speed. I tried messing with my port settings but to no avail. I'm told that it's possible my internet providers are set up to discourage filesharing.

Wouldn't be a surprise in this country. So many idiots here and such poor customer service. Kuwait is like a supercomputer run by a 10-year-old...

I use Azureus, I find it connects quick and have seen DL of 180kb's but I do find when its running everything slows. Just about to role back the java to j2re-1_4_2_07 as mentioned at the begining of this thread to see if this helps.

I have used BitTorando from day one of torrents years ago and have never switched what may be the way for me to go know cause it seems like when i load up torrents on tornado know it jumbles up my system and slows it down...and alot fo the time when i close a torrent it stays running in the background....i think its time to switch but what to????

ive tried Azerus and dont care for it couldnt get good speeds out of it and i just a simple click and go deal like BitTorando!!!

Bitcomet, its fast, small memory footprint, lots of features, and hasn't been banned at my private trackers, Azureus 2.2.0.0 has been banned due to hacked versions showing up that will report anything to the tracker you want, and 2.2.0.2 is still accepted but has been having lots of problems updating properly to trackers, as in people are not getting properly credited with all that they upload... Biggest difference, Bitcomet written in C++ and azureus written in Java(bloated)

Important notice!
BitComet 0.60 has been disallowed as a Bittorrent client on UKNova as of noon GMT Monday the 12th of December!
If you use BitComet, please change client! UKNova recomends Azureus primarily, but acknowledges µTorrent as a reasonable replacement!

uTorrent is my definite choice.

After BitComet got banned on a few torrentsites I decided to give uTorrent a try, and my am I glad. It's got all features of BitComet but it's a LOT better on resources and it's got some very nice features BitComet doesn't.

It's amazingly small at that, just under 140kb, no install needed and uses very little memory.

I'm not looking back... I've used the original BT client, BitTornado (which at least back when I tried it was just a big bug), Azureus (horrible resource hog at least back then) and Bitcomet (very nice, but just not up to uTorrent standard).

uTorrent here as well from BitTornado.

It is so fast. All my downloads finish in hours maybe a day for over 1GB which took days if not weeks before.

CPU usage is 0 for uTorrent when actively downloading and seeding, amazing.

The only downside is that it only downloads one file by default it stops all seeds when downloading and added downloads are qued. Doesn't matter much as it downloads so fast.

i was a BitComet user, but then it started getting banned all over, and i switched to uTorrent. haven't looked back since. i still miss some things from BitComet, but uTorrent is strongly in development and gets better every day. they're planning a full-blown web interface for the next release, so that should really rock.

bitcomet 0.60 was the worst version for cheating, in that it forcefully enabled dht on private torrents (VERY frowned upon on private sites)
but even since that has been fixed, bitcomet still favours other bitcomet users, which goes against the nature of bittorrent (bittorrent is supposed to reward uploaders, and not specific clients).

I was a huge fan of Azureus, but not it's resource hogging. I've recently found uTorrent and have loved it! Nearly a mirror image of Azureus, only it doesn't hog up my system resources. :D

BitComet, one of the few that has a good support for multiple downloads and shedueling. I got a download server which is on 24/7 and I like BitComet because I don't have to manage that much. If I make a queue, it starts downloading, stops torrents if I seed them enough and starts new torrents again. :)

Reasons: very fast, light, easy, only takes 3MB of RAM when running, and ocupies only 150KB in HD. What more can you ask? :P

I had been using Azureus for quite a while. The last version i used was 2.4.0.2 i think...
But i have my PC in an HTPC sort of setup...
And coz of the large amount of memory it takes up my videos didnt play at best performance at HD resolutions...
So i tried BitComet...It was good but was banned in certain private trackers...
And i found out why...Bitcomet uses DHT even for private torrents that have set the no DHT flag...
So i changed to µTorrent...Its been fantastic giving me the best dl speeds and you wouldnt even know that it is working in the bkg when doing somethin else...
