utorrent/azureus is the best

I'd have to vote for Bitcomet. Everything looks really nice, and not so cluttered. I used to use bittornado because of the hassleless use of the client, but i needed program that i could organize my downloads or sometimes if i want to the check sample file like for quality purposes.

I will try out the other 2 clients and see why they were voted better than bitcomet.

Another vote for uTorrent. Any of the trackers i have found myself on also seem to have it on the prefered clients list, so i've not bothered trying any others lately.

I'm on Azureus. It feel sluggish, yet it's surprisingly stable.
I might be better off with something that isn't Java-based, but I operate on the philosophy: "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it".

Azureus :)

mbucari1
01-24-2007, 08:18 PM
Azureus is good for me because I use most of the customizable options. Even though it uses more ram than other clients like utorrent, I prefer it. Also, the newest release, 2.5.0.2, is supposed to use less ram than the last version.

However, I have utorrent on my flash drive for travel purposes :)

I use uTorrent because it's nice and small, and for some reason it's the only BT client that actually works with my current internet connection; other clients say that something is up so I get really crappy DL speeds, but uTorrent works just fine. It's probably not my ISP, probably some really obvious problem that I haven't figured out yet, but w/e.

I used to use Azureus but it is heavy in resources, my little PC can't supported it. Now I use µTorrent with almost the same benefits and it is very very light. The only problem I have: sometimes the HD remains light for a long time and slow down my PC... This happends whan I throttle my Internet connection to "full power" and download near 1 MByte UP/Down. Somebody has the same problem? tnx!

Bucktoof

I use utorrent 1.6, and I don't think I'll upgrade because of the Cohen's bed-buddyness with MPAA/RIAA or Warner, whichever it is.
I wish some sites didn't ban the use of bittornado, or torrentflux as it is sometimes referred to.

Depends on what I'm doing and what a particular tracker will/won't allow. I use Macintosh computers... I like Transmission for simplicity (and pure speed!). I like XTorrent for RSS feeds (although, sadly, it doesn't yet auto-download them, it just presents you with the feed, for a one-click download) Transmission has been banned in the past (but now allowed) and so I switched temporarily to Azureus, which was OK, I like that it's nearly-infinitely configurable, if that's a word.

The most of listed clients in the poll are stopped/discarded or banned.
Example: TorrentStorm, ABC, G3 Torrent, Burst, TurboTorrent, BitSpirit haven't released new versions from years. BitComet, BitLord, BT++ are banned on most private trackers. Shareza is so rarely used that I don't think has a future as bittorrent client. BitTorrent and BitTornado are so uncomfortably while seeding/leeching a lot of torrents. And what's left?! Only 2 good and still alive client for Windows - µTorrent, Azureus !!! We need more alternatives, right?

I "was" happy with BitLord - that was until I found it was banned on a tracker so now moved to utorrent which "seams" to do the job OK.

I'd say uTorrent is the best. It does not take up resources and works very well. I used to use Azureus but the problem with that program is it woudl cut my internet connection and it wouldn't stay connected when seeding so I went to uTorrent.

I use utorrent and I need not add that it is the best and most highly recommended torrent application by most private trackers.

And the web interface feature is PRICELESS

I use uTorrent currently. I started out with BitComet then after using it for a year or so, I quit and started using uTorrent since I heard a lot of positive comments about it from a lot of people. And yes, I agree with them. I'll still using uTorrent till today. Small size and so eats up very little CPU.

I use uTorrent... But i think that Azureus is much better at CPU-usage (harddisk) than uTorrent, right?

no! you have it switched utorrent is so light you don't even have to install the .exe
azureus on the other hand uses java which takes up lots of ram. but has allot of ad-ons if you like that sort of thing:)

I have a mac so my choices are limited. Azureus had all the features I needed and I used it for quite awhile until trackers started allowing use of Transmission. I switched because Azureus made my computer slow and Transmission seems to use much less resources.

I'm a switch hitter. I use both utorrent and azureus depending on my mood that week. I do get a feeling that azureus seeds better. I have not stats to prove it, just a gut sense.

Both are good. Of course AZ uses more resources, but it has more options. uTorrent is simple and is good too.

Azureus version: 2.5.04
uTorrent 1.6.1 (though I've used 1.7.2 too)
