The PlayStation 3 hacking debate continues, even after Sony tried to patch up the vulnerabilities of the system through firmware updates, as the team that hacked the Nintendo Wii many years ago, fail0verflow, has just revealed that it has obtained the PS3's "private cryptography key."

For those of us less technically-inclined, it is basically the master skeleton key for the whole system, and allows complete control over the Japanese console.

Samsung recently announced that sales of its Android-based Galaxy S line of smartphones has reached 9.3 million, putting it just short of Samsung's goal of 10 million.
Earlier this year, Samsung predicted that it would sell 10 million units of its Galaxy S line of Android smartphones. It has been marching steadily toward that goal. Looks like that was a good bit of forecasting. Early this week, Samsung announced it has sold more than two million in its home country of Korea, the first phone ever to do so there.

You had to know the hacking community was going to have a field day with the Nook Color -- a $249 Android Tablet hiding behind with a thin e-reader coating. SAN FRANCISCO--The Chrome OS hardware Google promised in July of last year is still not ready for prime time. But if you're a developer or an eager early adopter, you're in luck. At an event today here in the city's Dogpatch neighborhood Google showed us the not-yet-finished hardware that will run Chrome OS. It's called CR-48, and it's not much to look at: a plain, black, unbranded notebook that companies and individual users who are accepted into Google's pilot program can use.
